Hamid Jafari
Hamid Jafari is an Iranian documentary filmmaker born in Bandar Mahshahr. He holds a B.A. in Film Directing from Sooreh University in Tehran.
Over the past two decades, Jafari has developed a distinct cinematic voice through his documentary and experimental works, exploring themes of memory, decay, and the invisible threads of everyday life.
His notable films include Of the Peasant’s Word..., Bard, Wind, and Leaf. His films have received numerous international awards, including from Visions du Réel (Switzerland), the New Orleans Film Festival (USA), Cinema Vérité (Iran), and the Religion Today Film Festival (Italy), and have been officially selected at Hot Docs, IDFA, and Visions du Réel.
