Introduction of the Course Instructor, Fatemeh Motamed-Arya

Fatemeh (Simin) Motamed-Arya was born in Tehran in October 1961. She is a graduate of acting from the Tehran Art Institute and is a theater, cinema, and television actress, and also is active in puppetry, and voice acting. She began her career in 1975 at CIDCA (Center for the Intellectual Development of Child and Adolescent) and gained experience in various theaters for several years. Her puppetry and voice acting in successful TV puppet series like “School of mice”, directed by “Marzieh Boroomand”, are her initial experiences in television.

She entered the cinema in 1985 with the film “Controversy”, directed by “Mohammad Ali Sadjadi”. “A Dowry for Robab”, “Reyhaneh”, “Wasteland”, “Once and Forever”, “Passengers”, “The Spouse”, “Actor”, “Once upon a Time, Cinema”, “The Blue Veiled”, “Redhat and Cousin”, “A Mother's Love”, “Gilaneh”, “A Little Kiss”, “Here Without Me”, “Tales”, “Yahya Didn't Keep Quiet”, “Nabat”, “Tale of the Sea”, “Life Hanging”, “No Choice”, “African Violet”, and “Popular” are some of the numerous cinematic works of Fatemeh Motamed-Arya until now. She has also appeared in successful television series like “The Primrose, “Barbershop Ziba”, “Sword’s Edge”, and “The Cheff”.

Motamed-Arya has played roles in the works of renowned directors such as “Bahram Beyzai”, “Rakhshān Banietemad”, “Bahman Farmanara”, “Mohsen Makhmalbaf”, and “Ebrahim Hatamikia” and has won four Crystal Simorgh awards for acting from the Fajr Film Festival, the Best Actress Trophy from the House of Cinema Celebration, Best Actress Trophy from the Hafez Celebration, Best Actress in Theater Trophy from the Fajr Theater Festival, Henri Langlois Award from the Vincennes Film Festival, Best Actress at the Montreal Film Festival, Lifetime Achievement Award from the Vesoul Festival in France, and numerous prestigious international awards inside and outside of Iran.
